Magda Gibson is an event specialist at the Stanley Foundation. What do you do at the foundation and how long have you been here?
I have been an Event Specialist with the Foundation since June 2016. The job involves everything from venue research to supporting programming staff and managing event logistics on-site.
What do you like most about your job?
Beyond supporting programs that advance peace and security across the globe, I love that every day, I’m working with passionate and engaged people who want to make the world better.
Where are you from?
I was born in Sopot, Poland, but my family settled in the San Francisco Bay Area when I was 11.
What are your hobbies?
Summer months present numerous festivals in our area, and I try to visit them all. The famous Iowa State Fair and the National Cherry Festival are just a short drive away. I also love to ride my bike along the Mississippi, kayak in nearby lakes, and go hiking with our dogs in the warmer months. In the winter, we ski and bowl in an easygoing league in our town.
