R2P: The Next Decade is a daylong conference scheduled for January 18, 2012.
It will bring together government officials, UN representatives, policy experts, academics, and journalists for a discussion marking the 10-year anniversary of the UN’s Responsibility to Protect (R2P) and for a serious assessment of the state and future of R2P at a pivotal moment in its development and application.

‘R2P: The Next Decade’ to gather Senior Officials, Experts, Civil Society
The Stanley Foundation, in partnership with the Carnegie Corporation of New York and the MacArthur Foundation, will mark the 10th anniversary of the Responsibility to Protect (R2P) with a full-day conference examining R2P through past experience and contemporary realities, and considering the prospects and challenges steering its evolution from political principle to policy doctrine into the next decade.
